Elwha is surreal today, in purple light.

Waiting for the ferry to Bainbridge, I am watching a man working on an I beam, with a cheerful yellow umbrella clamped to it. The old overpass is being taken down and a new ferry terminal is going up.
I am clearly back in the Pacific Northwest.

Taken on a visit to the Baltimore Aquarium a number of years ago. You would think it would be a fish, but it isn’t. Dolphins and whales sing, but do fish sing?

Beautiful, isn’t it? But it’s not a sunset. The recent storms have taken away more beach and there are tons of new rocks and debris thrown around.
