For Wordless Wednesday.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: rock.
One of my favorite early morning rocks, in Ontario, Canada.
The mergansers like it too.
Blessed with heat and home and love. I hope that you are too.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: sanctuary.
We are in a very big winter storm in the Pacific Northwest. Some years we get no snow, but right now we have 6 inches and still snowing. I have heat and light and power and tea. And food. So home is the sanctuary right now.
Is the snow threatening?
And yes, I took these this morning, at about 4:30 am.
I am getting ready for work and come downstairs to this: cattop? Lapcat? Laptop topper? It is cold all around my 1930s house, the cold creeps in the edges. We don’t often have night after night in the teens. I am glad to have heat, even with the cold edges.
I left for work after filling the hot water bottle. Mmmmm, warm.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: tradition.
One of our traditions now is wool socks and chocolate. My kids are now both young adults. When my daughter was in high school they told me no more plastic junk in the Christmas stockings. “We want wool socks and chocolate!” My daughter is a minimalist. She loves the Darn Tough socks. She has every intention of testing their lifetime guarantee.
I still show up with a yearly silly thing to play with on Christmas morning, but it’s feeling less ok to buy plastic, since it is made from oil. I will be making my own silly things soon, probably finger puppets.
