Good morning and Happy New Year’s Day!

Beautiful, isn’t it? But it’s not a sunset. The recent storms have taken away more beach and there are tons of new rocks and debris thrown around.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: finally.
It’s hard not to procrastinate when the sun is out here, after a week of cyclone and rain cloud rain rain cloud cloud rain rain rain.
It is going to be sunny again today.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: procrastinate.
I took this last month when I flew to Michigan for an almost brother’s birthday. He turned 50. The rising sun was just amazing and I could see the mountains beautifully. Yesterday’s photograph was also from the plane. I flew from Seattle to Chicago. In Chicago I took a taxi to the train station. There I waited for a train for four hours and then rode up into Michigan. It was my first real journey with the oxygen concentrator. My carry on had the concentrator, three back up batteries, my camera, a laptop and phone and charging cords for all of them. A heavy bag and I had to pull out laptop, batteries and camera at security. Fun, eh? But I had enough oxygen for a 12 hour journey and could plug in on the train. I could have plugged in on the plane too, but the cord was in the overhead compartment. Anyhow, it worked. Oxygen tubing, N95 mask and second mask over the N95… whew.
I also learned that I need to let the airline know 48 hours in advance that I am traveling on oxygen. They tend to seat you by a window so no one trips over your tubing. Though I was in an aisle seat on the way back. Anyhow…. made it, hoorah!
Two days ago I walked on Rialto Beach with a friend. It was totally gorgeous. One of those days when people visiting the Olympic Peninsula want to move here, only to find that those days are less common than the grey mat in the sky just over the house….
The colors were just intense. I did not adjust the color at all. The program sometimes offers me a retouched photograph but I always think the colors are just off and wrong.
I wore my oxygen, via concentrator. I have about 3.5 hours per battery. We were on the second battery by the time we got back.
My pack was also full of rocks. B is particular: he wants clear or nearly clear agates. I am currently a generalist about rocks: I am fascinated by the not clear agates, some quartz, jasper, poppyseed jasper… anyhow, I am rather a magpie right now about rocks. Ooooo, shiny!
My wolf river apple tree likes the fence between it and the road.
I took this a few days ago. The tree is preferentially growing toward the fence and the part that is below and behind the fence is in full bloom and gorgeous. The rest of the tree is budding but not in full bloom.
What does it like about the fence? Shelter from the cars in the road? The fence is to the west, so it shouldn’t do much for warmth, but that could be part of it. Maybe it does not like the car exhaust.
Maybe I should extend the fence a little higher in that corner. Just to please my tree….
From yesterday afternoon, downtown.
