There is grass atop the bunkers in Fort Worden. I hope the grass is never disturbed by anything other than people climbing up to see the view.

“Zippy?” says Elwha. “The sun is out. We should just lie in the sun. We are conserving energy, absorbing it.”
Do cats make vitamin D? We had sun yesterday and we have been having rain for MONTHS.
Meanwhile, the zippy group are the sailors doing the R2AK! After the initial terrible weather for the first leg, with three boats capsizing and one dismasted, only a few make it to Victoria the first day! Other boats sheltering at Dungeness Spit until the weather got less hairball and then crossed. Boats left Victoria at noon yesterday. Blessings for the rescuers and the rescued! Follow the race here: https://r2ak2022.maprogress.com/#
Remember, this race is human powered. Sails and some other mode, paddlewheel or rowing or bicycle power. No support boats and they have to carry all their supplies! The first prize is $10,000 and the second prize is the coveted set of steak knives.
Field reports are posted daily. Hooray for the zippy, brave, and hopefully reasonably cautious sailors and rowers! Go teams!
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: zippy.

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: decry.
I have been not thinking about this for a couple of days, stuck on the first one. Oh, silly and nonsense go together, don’t they? Let’s play with some made up words! Many thanks to Winnie-ther-Pooh, Groot, the Walrus and the Carpenter, Pogo, Yoda, Charlotte’s Web, and all the many woozles, caterpiggles and heffalumps out there!
For Fibbing Friday, just under the wire!
What does the photograph have to do with this? Nothin. Heh-heh.
And here are the kittens reversed, for today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt. This is very soon after I brought them home. They were exploring and always really really hungry. They grew like little weeds.
Here are both Elwha and Sol Duc, with my stealthie feet.

Like the feathers have been inked.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: ink.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: envy.
During hard times, I find silly music and poems deeply comforting. So: Uncle Bonsai, the Seattle trio, on the subject of envy!
And while they are at it, they have advice, too:
I read that metals can fracture hackly. Other fracture types are conchoidal or earthy. New words!
I took this on my March/April travel.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: hackly.
From my mystery trip in March to April 2022.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: checkered.
