This is the last photograph in my series. I hope she is a neighbor I run into again soon! Great blue herons are so big, they need big trees to perch in, and we have them.

This is the last photograph in my series. I hope she is a neighbor I run into again soon! Great blue herons are so big, they need big trees to perch in, and we have them.
She lands again, in the top of a tree.
I am walking in my neighborhood without earbuds (5).
My neighbor bird takes off again. I catch her with my camera, barely.
And she lands again.
…to land in a tree across the street from me. She cranes her neck to look at me. Am I a weird relative? Am I holding a bird captive? Where are my wings?
Where are my wings? I want to know too.
Sunrise in Wisconsin last week.
My solitary thought this morning is about ethics. It does not matter what the other person has done, we still must be true to our ethical values. This means that a contractor can’t refuse to pay a worker. I am thinking of my own behavior but I am also thinking of the White House. I want an ethical president, a president who takes responsibility, a president who does not blame others, a president who stands up for what is right. A president who put ethical values first. Not money. Not predation. Not fake news. Not lies. Not corporations over citizens. Citizens are people. A corporation is not a person.
I want an ethical president who will not lie.
For Mundane Monday #121. Nice job of camouflage….
For the Daily Prompt: paper.
I sent Valentine messages and photographs to my young adult children yesterday and their father’s parents, who are in their 90s. I got messages back: a lovely Valentine.
Last Saturday was sunny and I hung a chair in the tree house at the right height to look at the windows. It warms inside in the sun fairly quickly. The tree is just starting to bud. It was cosy and delicious to sit and read and look at roof tops. A sanctuary.
Prayers for everyone who is trying to find safety and sanctuary and peace…..
