Mundane Monday #191: reflection

For Mundane Monday #191, well, it’s New Year’s Eve: so my theme is reflection.

What are you reflecting on this New Year’s Eve? What photographs have you taken this year that reflect what you love, what you value, what you learned? Or just have a reflection?

Link by message or to this post and I will list them next week. Happy New Year!

Last weeks prompt was nature’s patterns. Everyone was busy! Hopefully with family or friends or both, and hooray for that!

Late entry: klallendorfer with a lovely reflection on the end of the year and resolutions.

more blue

For Wordless Wednesday: I am not wordless today, but the herons are so stealthy!

Hiking with my daughter and friend B on the C and O canal, ah! Here is an east coast great blue heron. Standing very still across the canal, just the colors of the rocks and winter trees and leaves. I look for birds or I could have walked right by without seeing this one.

Great blue heron standing on one leg, with surrounding rocks of the same color.

I love the one legged stance. I will need to do a lot more Tai Chi before I can stand on one leg that comfortably. The heron only moved enough to keep an eye on me.

family

We visited both of my paternal aunts and uncle in Virginia in the last few days. The picture is one of my aunts and my daughter.

I also took a picture of these photographs.

My father is in the center, with my two aunts, taken at different dates. The one of my father is in 1938 or 39. Aunt Pat is the same one who is with my daughter.

Mundane Monday #189: branches

For Mundane Monday #189, my theme is branches.

I have been traveling, so this post is much later than usual.

What photographs have you taken of branches that inspire you? Branches of trees in the winter, or evergreens or other things that branch? I took this one today on a hike.

Message or tag your post Mundane Monday and I will list them next week.

halcyon light

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: halcyon.

Are our memories accurate or do they fool us? Halcyon memories. I really like this photograph but it fools us a bit…. I am zoomed in very far trying to capture the sun breaking through the clouds. The picture is much more dramatic then where I was really standing. I can fool myself….

childlike

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: persist.

Oh, children are the most brilliant of all at persisting! Think of learning to walk, learning to talk, being small in this adult world and trying to keep up! Think of figuring it out when at first you have to realize that you have hands and that the noises mean something! And they persist!
