From the Port Townsend Farmer’s Market last weekend, our resident gnomes.
For Thursday doors.
The opening of a nest is a door, isn’t it? Two nests decorate a friend’s exquisite garden, with flowers galore. Patches of glorious color.

Someday maybe I will have more gardening time!

Meanwhile, their garden is a door into beauty.

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: slippery.
The front rocks at the lake slope down into the water. The rocks are terrifically slick when it first rains.

They are also slick when we try to step into the lake to swim.

We invented a new way to get in this year. On the edge of the water, go forward a bit and then…

slide in….

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: grubby.
Grubby isn’t quite the right word here. At the lake we do get grubby, mostly living outdoors, but the word for this is slick and slippery! There was a burn ban when we first got to the lake, but it rained a lot the last couple of days. When it first rains, the rocks are terribly slick. I was very careful going down on the front rocks, but it didn’t occur to me to warn my daughter or partner. Both fell, feet shot out from under, launched! Both were thankfully fine, just startled and a little banged up! I showed them the alternate route back up the rocks.
The rocks and the lake are so beautiful in the rain. And I worried less about fires.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: oasis.
A moment with glorious early sun coming across and everything looks gilded: lake, rocks and feet. I hope you find an oasis in your heart for many moments….
For Norm2.0’s Thursday doors.
Two weeks ago I was visiting family in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. This is an art installation in town and the multitude of doors made me think of Thursday doors! Hoods, too. What day would we choose for hoods? I am afraid that many of the hoods I think of are grim, but these hoods are fine…

They are not as orange as an orange, but orange you glad we went to the Chimacum Farmer’s Market on Sunday?
They were having a fabulous and glorious nap.
