The introverted thinker and the giant

My mother tells this story:

“The introverted thinker is three. I tell her to clean up her toys. She has a mat with cardboard houses and cars. I hear her in the other room, talking. First a low voice, then very high voices.

Low voice: “Stomp, stomp, stomp.”

High voices: “No, no, help, help! Run, run!” (small crashing sounds).

Low voice: “I am a giant, stomp, stomp.”

I peek in the room. The introverted thinker is kicking all the houses and cars over, being a giant. Then she cleans up the houses and the cars.”

And my mother laughs, and everyone who listens.

And do adults feel like giants to children sometimes? Giants in uniform who take their parents away? And can the child do anything? How helpless they may feel.Β

My son took this picture of his sister.

Mundane Monday #163: rectangle

Good morning and welcome to Mundane Monday #163: rectangle. What is your take on rectangles, what perspective lifts them out of the mundane and makes a magical photograph?

And what the heck are these anyhow?

Link your post and I will list them next Monday.

From last week Mundane Monday #162: blue we have:

fast cars

For the Daily Prompt: rapid.

There were 550 participants at the Rotary Conference in Tacoma this weekend. Wow! From 90 clubs in our District 5020. There are over 35,000 clubs world wide. Wild polio will hopefully be eradicated soon, and then it will be time to switch from the oral vaccine to the injected and that will take more time. What next?

The fast car above is from the Lemay car museum, but it is currently in the lobby of the Hotel Murano. The Rotarians had passes to the museum on Friday night… hundreds of cars from all eras, including from the time when carriage makers were making car bodies to order. Unique and hand painted and woodwork and gorgeous.

Rotary District 5020

Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary is part of Rotary District 5020. This district includes the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island, two countries. I am at the District 5020 Training and Conference, sitting next to the East Jefferson President and getting education and inspiration from our District Governor Craig Gillis. Excellent and inspiring!
