For the Daily Prompt: forecast.
We walk on at Fort Worden. I am disappointed that the eagle has flown. Then I spot another large silhouette in a different tree. Eagle? Yes, and not one eagle. Two!
The forecast is eagles.

My daughter and I are working our way around the Fort Worden lighthouse. I catch the eagle from different angles. I am hoping for a close up.

Neither angle is wonderful, but there are other shots:

For Mundane Monday #193, my theme is group. What photograph of a group pleases you, came out the way you wanted, makes you happy? Which composition?
My group is a tree full of robins. They flock across the street at this time of year and fly over to a tree with berries to eat. They clear the tree over a few weeks, from the top down. I like the silhouette effect, yet with some color.
Message or link you entry and I will list them next week.

The picture is the tree with berries that the robins are eating, outside my clinic window. They clear it from the top down. Deer come too and stand on their back legs to reach up for berries.

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: lumber.
Oh, lumber. Lumber from trees, from forests. Forests make me think of old growth. I have gone to the Hoh Rain Forest twice. The first time it was pouring rain so hard that we abandoned the trip and stayed at a motel in Forks. The second time the sun came out and the wet moss covered trees gleamed and the Roosevelt Elk showed up. It was amazing!

I took all the photographs except the one with me and the kids: my spouse took that one. These are from 2004.
I am watching the birds and deer eat the winter berries. This is in my yard. I have a tree that I watch out the window at clinic. Robins will land in a flock in three tall trees across the street. They will swoop from across the street in groups and eat the berries. The berries will disappear from the top of the tree down, the most risky and exposed ones last.
For Wordless Wednesday. (But sort of wordy!)
We hiked part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal yesterday. It has rained tons in the last week, so the Potomac River is really really high and fast. The Billy Goat Trail is blocked off by the park service, partly flooded and not safe. My daughter pointed out how different the color of the fast river is than our Salish Sound.
It was a gorgeous day, sun, not very warm, birds, tow path and wild rushing river.
