pink rose

This rose has only one bloom so far this year. This rose came from Portland. A friend of mine bought a house and said he was digging up the yard for all edibles. “What about the roses?” I ask. “You want them?” “Yes.” So this rose arrived in a plastic bag with two others. One has died and two remain. The other one has not bloomed yet. Travel shock of this sort seems to last for years.

But I am delighted with this rose. I want to spoil it and fuss over it. I love roses.

pink shard

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: shard.

I photographed our local mosaic sculptures and I can’t find the pictures. I just went through 3 years of photographs and it’s making me too sad. Yesterday a patient said, “How are you?” I replied, “Mostly happy with occasional grumpiness.” Sorrow too. So here is a mostly blue photograph with a little pink. Maybe the happiness is the pink in which case I said it backwards.

Mundane Monday #174: water color

For Mundane Monday #174, my prompt is: water color.

I have missed two Mundane Mondays! Mea culpa! But…. I was really and truly unplugged. Nine days at a cabin from the 1930s on a lake with no outlet, no electricity. I did have batteries and so could take pictures.

Lake Matinenda has moods and colors: when it is calm it reflects the sky. I was up in the early morning a lot for the sunrise and here is a pink and blue lake. I love the moods of the water and the sky and nearly living outdoors.

For my last Mundane Monday #173: skies:
