I see you!
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: snazzy.
Shift or not? Oh. I read it as swift or not. I am not going to shift from swift. It is too early to swiftly shift from swift to shift. Swift or not? Well, both. Not a swift as in the bird, but a swift and strong flier. Great blue herons always look incongruous to me in trees. They do like really big trees, but they always surprise me out on a branch. They have very light hollow bones compared to us and can sit lightly on a branch like this.
For the RDP: shift. I am swiftly feeling incongruously shifty on this early Monday.
I took this on Marrowstone Island. There are often remains of buildings or cars or engines or boats or docks. And which is this, do you think?
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: concrete.
I am reading Kim Addonizio’s Ordinary Genius, A Guide for the Poet Within, for a class. In the chapter about cliches, she suggests choosing a cliche and playing with it. The first example on her list is “A sudden fear gripped me”, so she inspired this:
Upstage
A sudden fear gripped me by my nipples
I hear my mother: Colder than a witch’s titty
Why must the witch’s titties be cold?
Must they dance naked even in the bitter winter?
Can a witch retire at a certain age
Sit warm, clothed, with her cat and tea
By a fire with enough fuel for winter?
You’d think they’d get pneumonia dancing naked
In any weather; yet witches are usually old.
Maybe it acts like jumping in to cold water
To dance around a Beltane fire; maybe witchery
is hot work and they aren’t cold at all.
Maybe a witch’s titty is warm all the time
And meanwhile the fear is gone, upstaged by titties.
Dang, I’ve got a lot of stages. So it is a long playlist! I can’t complain (yes I can), after all, I wrote the stages. Hmm, to work, to work, to play, to PEACE.

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: wholesome.
The Ragtag Daily Prompt today is hard edge, but this photograph gives me the opposite feeling. Oh, I am sure there are edges in the distant mountains and the rocks are hard and perhaps there is a cliff beneath the water, but my photograph feels soft.
We had snow in the night, but it is still dark out. Very cold, but the snow is soft.
