Mundane Monday #178: light and dark

For Mondane Monday #178, a light and dark theme. I like the combination of the silhouette with the reflection. I took this on the Seattle Bainbridge ferry Friday. I saw th reflection and then had to move around to catch the effect.

What combination of light and dark appeals to you?

Last weeks Mundane Monday was creature built.

Mundane Monday #177: creature built

OOOOooooo, maybe I should save this for Halloween, but I am going to use it anyhow.

For Mundane Monday #177, the theme is a photograph of something creature built.

We were leaving in the early morning and P nearly walked into this web. Then we both stopped and took photographs. It’s hard to capture the web in focus! When I moved to another angle, the spider is visible but the web can’t be seen with the white porch as a background. The spider is floating in space.

Link your photograph or send a message and I will list it next week.

Last weeks Mundane Monday #176, the theme was bones.

KL Allendorfer submits a fascinating project with students: Assembling the bones.

Mundane Monday #174: water color

For Mundane Monday #174, my prompt is: water color.

I have missed two Mundane Mondays! Mea culpa! But…. I was really and truly unplugged. Nine days at a cabin from the 1930s on a lake with no outlet, no electricity. I did have batteries and so could take pictures.

Lake Matinenda has moods and colors: when it is calm it reflects the sky. I was up in the early morning a lot for the sunrise and here is a pink and blue lake. I love the moods of the water and the sky and nearly living outdoors.

For my last Mundane Monday #173: skies:

KL Allendorfer: skies.

Mundane Monday #173: skies

For Mundane Monday #173, my theme is skies: not blue skies. Skies that worry me. This is a fire sky, the sun setting through smoke that we can smell. There are no big fires near us, so I don’t know if this is California, Oregon, Washington, or Idaho smoke…

Add a message with your post or a pingback and I will list them next week. There might be a delay, because I have some travel soon.

For the Mundane Monday #172 prompt: windy:

Mundane Monday #172: windy

Today’s Mundane Monday #172 theme is windy.

Last night a friend and I attended a reception at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center. A beautiful evening and windy. We were welcomed by this wind sock octopus.

Entries for Mundane Monday #171: faces.

KLAllendoerfer chooses clock faces.

Send a link or a comment and I will add your post next week.

And here are some of the denizens of the Marine Science Center:

orange and purple

I am posting this now, because even though it’s 6:28 am on Sunday for me, it’s alreadyย  1:28 am on the Kamchatka Peninsula, on Monday! I live more toward the tail end of Monday, so I am deciding to post on Sunday once it is Monday somewhere!

Mundane Monday #171: faces

For Mundane Monday #171, the theme is faces.

This is taken at a 90th birthday party, all three people related. I was trying to get candid shots when people were moving and talking, so this was a happy result.

Also, Trablogger is returning in August, so I don’t know if he will take Mundane Monday back over: stay tuned. Now it’s 12:31 in India and Monday, so I am going to go ahead and post, even though it’s still Sunday here….

Send your link or comment and I will list any on the theme next week.

Mundane Monday #169: shadow

For this week Mundane Monday #169, a photograph with an interesting shadow. Or, a shadow of an idea or a shadow of an image…

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!

Add a message with your link and I will list all the sites next Monday.

From last week’s Mundane Monday #168: bee heaven, no other entries.

Have a delightful and not too shadowed week.

Mundane Monday #168: bee heaven

For today’s Mundane Monday, pick your theme: heavens or bees or both! This plant hums with bees when it is in bloom. The bees love it so much and I think that it must love being swarmed with humming bees. Think of loving and being loved so much.

Message your link and I will list all the entries next week.

Mundane Monday #167: water’s edge

For Mundane Monday #167, the theme is water’s edge. I took this yesterday on a beach walk with my daughter.

What water edges have you photographed? Air and water? Land and water? Ice? Cloud?

Link your entry and I will list them next week.

Last week, Mundane Monday #166, the theme was parent and child. I do not think there were any entries but mine. Message me if I am wrong.

Mundane Monday #165: sand

Good morning, Mundane Monday Photographers! This crab is smaller than my littlest toenail, and has acres of dunes to cross at the very low tide. What does your Monday look like?

The theme last week was a use for hands:

KL Allendoerfer with fingerprints.

If you have a mundane sandy picture, link and I will list them next week. Have a wonderful day no matter how many dunes you have to cross.
