Here is the mom and ducklings behind the grasses in today’s earlier post. We were trying to get a photograph of a very noisy and elusive little wren, so stood in the same place for quite a while. Mom settled back down but kept an eye on us…..

I got flocked a few years ago, to raise money for our high school students. So here is a graduating flamingo, climbing the ladder of the future….
Congratulations to the graduating high school seniors and to all the children finishing one part of school.

I took the photograph at the Renwick. I asked the guard if I could take photographs. He smiled and said, “We encourage it.” And it’s part of the Smithsonian….free. I could not take my tea inside, and that seems entirely fair….but, free, that is, paid for by the citizens of the United States with our taxes and welcoming people from all over the world to step in and see what is there…..

I took this photograph sitting on the steps of the Renwick Gallery, finishing a cup of tea before I went in. I was back visiting my son and old friends in the Baltimore-Washington corridor.
They should rename it the Baltimore-Washington superhighway.
And is it a revelation that you see things like this in Washington, DC? It’s a pretty weird place.
Ok, well, you cannot see the door. Still, I am submitting this to Thursday doors, shot through a door into a bunny nest box. It has been sunny and summer for two days but today it is raining and chilly again. I want to be transported to….
