For the Daily Prompt: gingerly.
I took this in Poulsbo, during the World Wide Photowalk.
I like this because it sneaks up. Ok, stubborn photographer, trying to get the right shot…. oh, wait, crutches. The hike was not terribly long, luckily. Balancing on crutches with a camera, well, there were no falls.
I took this during the Wooden Boat Festival this year. I am in the Sunrise Rotary. We sell hotdogs, beef and veggie and virtual (for your avatar) to raise money for all sorts of projects: incoming and outgoing exchange students, a shelter box or two to go to disasters, grant money for our local domestic violence and trauma shelter, dictionaries for every 3rd grader in the county, money to a project in Rwanda to support grandmothers taking in orphaned children that they are not even related to….

Many thanks to everyone who helps. Some people don’t eat hotdogs, beef or veggie, but donate anyhow. Since it’s Wooden Boat, I dress as a very unrealistic pirate. I just like the hat and lace!
For the Daily Prompt: neighbors.
Taken in August 2014.
A return to the water. In the Poulsbo Harbor, there were a pair of seals fishing. Sometimes they are deep enough that we cannot see them. Sometimes the water is disturbed. Sometimes I can see them under the water. And sometimes they surface.
We went to take other pictures and then started walking home. I took one last zoom picture…. shhhhh, she’s asleep.
Taken in Wisconsin, in a meadow, zoom all the way out. It took me multiple tries to get the plane of focus right…
…but it has spots not stripes. On the other hand, leopards are not orange….
The other thing that I think of with Sam is tools and do it yourself. He told me once that when he went to college, he wanted to learn everything. He had tons of both practical and esoteric knowledge. I took these pictures at Lake Matinenda… so for those of you who don’t know, what is this? Can you guess?
That summer I helped wire an outlet attached to this and helped float the raft in the correct position, which fine tuned my motor boat driving skills. I had to hold the boat in position in wind and waves, while Sam yelled over his shoulder at me and connected lines and wires and an anchor.
