contrast

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: contrast.

I took this Friday, walking around north Seattle, waiting for my autoclave to finish testing. In the early morning these small flowers were by the road and scattered through a yard. For survivors everywhere: the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia and for men, women and children who have been hurt and abused and go on. For the capacity to love, to grieve and to heal.

Mundane Monday #154

Welcome to Mundane Monday #154: Color contrast.

I am continuing Photrablogger’s Mundane Monday photography posts. Add your pingback and I will list submissions next week. My Monday is much later than photrablogger’s, so I am thinking of posting Sunday night, to get things rolling. Opinions?

I am back from Hawaii and work today. I read about the cardinals in Hawaii. They were introduced to the island from the east coast in 1929. They seem to be  thriving and are so bright against the very verdant greens.

Photrablogger put submissions from the previous week up in the new week. While I was still trying to post remotely last Monday, Colette got the theme: angle.

black shroom

For the Daily Prompt: black.

I took this hiking in August 2013. I was out sick with strep A pneumonia and it was in my muscles as well. I had been sick since June. Talking made me cough. I couldn’t hike fast, but I could hike.

We were mushrooming, carefully. We found a few black mushrooms. Photographed and left: we only collected edibles that we were solid on.

It was a beautiful and healing hike for me.
