This is for the Daily Prompt: tame.
Not tame, though. We were out for a walk and heard a warning chatter. Up in the following tree, caught by the zoom.

For the Daily Prompt: believe.
For the Daily Prompt: interest.
I am focused on a group of gulls at the end of the dock, hoping to catch one taking off. What interests me here is the edges… and catching parts.
For the Daily Prompt: popular.
I was on Herron Island for two nights. We were the second responders to a house fire and called 911.
Are the gulls grouped for social reasons? For survival too. If there is a predator, those sleeping will be awakened by the others.
The hurricanes and the house fire: I am thinking about emergencies and emergency response and emergency preparedness. How are you prepared? The fire trucks had to come to the island by ferry and it took twenty minutes.
I am donating to Shelterbox, that sends disaster boxes all over the world, shelter, water filters, cooking equipment and food supplies. And crayons and a coloring book for the children. I hope they are arriving in all the places, wars, hurricanes and other disasters.
For the Daily Prompt: coincidence. I had my camera ready and caught this. Coincidence or skill? Some of each, and trying to catch birds in flight is very much like trying to catch synchronized swimmers out of the water. I photographed synchro for seven years.
For the Daily Prompt: leaf.
An old riddle: walk on the dead ones, they rumble and grumble. Walk on the live ones, nary a mumble.
For the Daily Prompt: sting. But no, I am wrong, I don’t think this insect has a sting, at least not for people! We do worry about insects having stingers, but insects are also our great pollinators.
Sending love to and in celebration of insects.
This is for the Daily Prompt: recreate. The American Academy of Family Physicians had a celebration last night at the end of the conference and included a painter who recreated this familiar faces right in front of a large audience. Then it was auctioned off to the highest bidder to fund raise for Houston hurricane victims. Bravo!
This is for the Daily Prompt: overcome.
I took this with my camera at full zoom and knew I was photographing a bird, but not what bird. I did know there were goldfinches around, because I would spot their flight, up and down like a wave, and heard them. IΒ hold my breath and freeze to try to catch the shot. This worked! Overcoming the disadvantage of distance and my limited vision…. and letting the camera work.
Let us also continue to work to overcome discrimination.
Sweet Honey in the Rock: Would you harbor me?
I am submitting this to yesterday’s Daily Prompt: educate.
You must be educated and know what you are doing to drive a tug into the fog towing a barge and yet be safe.
Blessings on all the people in the flooded parts of Texas and other states, who used their boats and education and skills to rescue so many people. Thank you.
