For the Daily Prompt: shallow.
Are these waters deep or shallow?
What do I fear in the depths or am I comfortable there?

Joy today. I am so deeply thankful that this health insurance bill has been voted down. Health insurance because it was not going to improve health care. It would have increased profits and worsened citizens’ health.
Our chorus performed last night and the music is still playing in my head… from a Shawn Kirchner piece. “It shall be well with you…..”
I took this in 2012.
For Wordless Wednesday, taken in 2010.
I took this at the Jefferson County Farmer’s Market in Port Townsend this Saturday with my phone. A gorgeous day and a live band. Who was playing? A band with Crow in the name….
I am submitting this to Mundane Monday #119.
Boa Cat is not really black…when the sun hits her fur she has auburn tones. But, ok, don’t mess with her, because most of the time she looks like a black cat. This is just light reflecting from the flash, right?
We’d just like any special powers to stay dormant…
I took this in 2014. Even the photograph makes me long to fly, flocks flying and calling always do. My heart tries to leap towards them, longing.
A migrating flock is a door into longing for me.
Our boatyard has two cranes, a big one and a little one. They can lift enormous boats out of the water. The bottom is washed and the water is filtered and then the boats are set down to be worked on, all over the boatyard.
When my kids were little they had field trips from the school to the boatyard. My daughter’s class had a trip to see the crane because one of the parents works as a crane operator. All the second graders learning about the boatyard: fabulous.
Taken in the boatyard this week, I am submitting this to photrablogger’s Mundane Monday #118.
I miss your skin
the planes of shoulder blades
layers of muscle overlying them
the trapezius sweeping up to the base of the skull
and down to the tenth vertebrae
like a wing pointed inwards
on your back
and attached to bones
more and more in clinic
I pull out Netter’s beautiful drawings
and show people the bones
and that the bones are not just floating
in a sea of muscle and organs
every bone is attached to muscles
to tendons to ligaments
together in an elaborate
beautiful
working system
and if one muscle is torn too loose
or tightens to protect itself
and heals scarred calcified
too short
it pulls on the other muscles
and tendons and bones
I miss your skin
your muscle
your tendons
your ligaments
your bones
and all the rest
I took the photograph in the boatyard in 2016. Sometimes I dream I have feathers….
For the Daily Prompt: moxie.
More happy bees. I am so brave to get so close to photograph them! Moxie me!
