As the sun gets nearer to rising on Saturday, the fog rises too, and nears town. The Cascades are no longer visible across the Sound.
Early Saturday, the fog is rolling up over Marrowstone Island, with the distant Cascades showing above the fog line.
For Wordless Wednesday.
I took this on Saturday. Yesterday we had smoke, not fog, from all the fires. When I went out to my car, there was a fine rain of ash. The smoke frightens me and I feel like a child again, in a car with the smell of my father’s cigarettes, unfiltered camels. I feel edgy all day.
I would rather have the fog.
Another fog study from Saturday morning. Color disappears in the fog, even though those boats are not very far away….
We got up early to photograph the sunrise on Saturday. The fog is lying on the sound and rolling up over Marrowstone Island. The Cascades are visible over the fog. Port Townsend Bay is clear and the water calm.
For photrablogger’s Mundane Monday # 125, a study of parallels. The fog is rolling in after the sun rises, and the rowers come in.
For the Daily Prompt: priceless.
What is more miraculous and priceless then each year’s harvest?
I am two blocks from home, walking in my neighborhood (7).
She perches in the top of one of the trees. I zoom in again. Look back at that first picture. She is in one of the tall trees behind the cars, right at the top.
She looks like a very interesting Christmas tree topper.
Blessings, beautiful great blue heron! I think of you along rivers and ponds and swamps, but what a privilege to see you flying to perch in a tree! In three trees! Three blocks from my home!
I feel blessed.
She is one of the many reasons I walk without earbuds and listen and watch for the birds.
I am walking without earbuds (3).
I am debating whether to walk closer, and continuing to make my pteradactyl noises, when my bird takes flight.
And flies over me, to land….
