Flowers or not?
Wild light
Christmas 2018, my son, daughter-in-law, daughter and I drove to Roanoke, Virginia to see my two aunts and one uncle. We went to the science museum. Among other things, there were mushrooms that light up under black light.
I am not sure any of these are neon lighting. But they are wild light!

Fooled me
I caught this out of the corner of my eye. Flower? Well, a fall flower or a leaf posing as a flower.

Berries
These are the berries the robins eat in late January, early February, when there isn’t anything else to eat. I don’t think they like them that much, but it’s what is left. They will eat them from the top of the tree to the bottom outside my clinic window, with a dozen robins in the tree at once.

Brilliant color
I took this on Saturday. This is the fire house. The leaf colors are fabulously brilliant this year. Often they are gone by now. We had a week where the night time temperatures were nearly freezing. Does that have anything to do with the brilliant colors?

Motion
The seals look static on their distant rock, until I zoom in, stabilize on a rock, and get a movie. The tide is moving fast! There is lots of motion and the seals are alert and paying attention!
Mimic
I wandered around between the Library and the Farmer’s Market yesterday and took pictures. This tree really looks like a flower: I was fooled for a minute. There are still things blooming and the leaves are still really gorgeous.

Color leach
As the leaves fall and the rain comes, colors leach from the leaves. Nutrients for the next year.
