A portrait of Boa Black

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: pet.

This is Miss Boa Black. I am not sure if she is my pet or I am hers.

My daughter picked a kitten from the pound 15 years ago. A few days later I took my son there and handed him Boa. She was tiny, feather soft, and purred the instant we picked her up. The other cat is gone, but Boa is still here. She is really a one person cat and the person is me. She hates it when I pull suitcases out and lately she has been tucking me in at night. She does love the kids but disapproved strongly when they went off to college and only visit erratically.

She still has the softest fur.

Mundane Monday 188: making a move

The theme for Mundane Monday 188 is making a move.

Do you have a photograph or series of shots about making a move?

Princess Mittens is contemplating her move in the first shot. Next:

Mundane Monday 187: warm

The theme for Mundane Monday 187 is warm.

What photograph makes you think of warmth? Boa cat was on my lap and I had to get up. Left her wrapped in the blankets on the couch and warm and cosy.

waiting

Boa cat sat this summer and waited, daily.

What is she waiting for? Fawns. I don’t mow my second lot, and a deer would park her two fawns in the yard for one or two days, every fourth or fifth day. Boa is very interested in the fawns. I don’t think she plots to catch one, I think she just likes them. She is sitting about a foot from the trail that the deer have made in the grass.

I think I’m waiting for the weekend, and our concert this weekend.

bask 2

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: bask.

We got Princess Mittens and Boa Black at the same time, very different pound kittens. I was out with a complication of influenza (2003) and out for two months. My lungs were swollen and I just had to wait and rest until the swelling went down. Princess was killed by a car at age 10, but we still have Boa.

Princess was an expert at basking.

outdoors

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: home.

Home for me is as much outdoors as indoors. I took this last March. Ms. Boa Cat is guarding me. I am not sure what ghost is in the chair, but I am sure she can see the ghost. She is very aware of my moods.

Here is a bit of the house.

And it’s good to stretch at home in the morning in the sun.

Mundane Monday 179: without words

For Mundane Monday #179, my prompt is without words.

Let’s see a photograph where the communication is wordless.

Ms. Boa turns 15 as my daughter turned 21. For a cat, that’s approximately in her 70s. She is smaller, has lost muscle mass. She can still catch mice. And she communicates: ok, mom, enough computer for today. Do something else. This was yesterday and I decided she was RIGHT!

Link your blog or send a message and I will list them next week.
