Sea

Nearing the end of a beach walk with my daughter at Fort Worden, the Strait to the west had a line of silver at the horizon. Gorgeous in all weather….

The vote today by Congress would remove the minimum services that insurances must offer in the US. Steps backwards, where cancer screening or hospital services or life flights or pregancy may not be covered. VOTE NO!!!!

And we still need medicare for all, single payer, so that 20% of every healthcare dollar is not going to insurance company profit…..Can’t they see?

Blue and pink too

I went down to the beach last night with my camera, to catch the light from the setting sun on the clouds and walk the beach.

I am realizing that I like my house but I love being outdoors and I love my work and writing and photography and knitting and exercise…. the end result is that organizing the house after 10 years of being a single mom, full time doctor and opening my own clinic, along with my sister’s and father’s deaths…. well, I’d rather be outside than work on the house. If sorting the house takes time, I don’t mind. I want to walk on the beach and see the sunset more than I want to organize….

Come with me…..

Summer sunset

I still don’t stay up much past nine most nights, but my young adult offspring talked me into a beach walk the other evening. We went down to Fort Worden and the Point Wilson Lighthouse. The sunset was glorious. I went back to the car for a jacket right away because the water temperature is around 51 degrees. It cools down quickly. The tide was coming in, so we only walked about half a mile, but it was gorgeous. This is looking north from Point Wilson towards Vancouver Island and the San Juan Islands…. over the kelp beds.
