Rhody

We are in the week of our annual Rhododendron Festival. A tricycle race on Wednesday, run by my Sunrise Rotary. The Bed Race, the Pet Parade. Today is the Rhody Run, but I wore my feet out yesterday, with the Running of the Balls (one of our big Rotary fundraisers) and then the Rhody Parade. I walked to Monroe Street at 9:30 am and was not done until 3:00 pm. My phone went dead, but another person’s recorded 16,000 steps. I iced my feet when I got home, up on pillows!

And the local rhododendrons are gorgeous. Are they narcissists? Or just joyful?

Mundane Monday #160: stairs

Good morning! Another Mundane Monday, and the topic this time is stairs. But this is outdoors in Tacoma, so fire escapes qualify too.

I had trouble posting yesterday. My mother died May 15, 2000, and Mother’s Day is always near that time. Love to everyone else who has lost a mother.

I am a day late, but still present.

One other submission to last week’s Mundane Monday, ramp up.

Colette B with a mystery ramp.

fast cars

For the Daily Prompt: rapid.

There were 550 participants at the Rotary Conference in Tacoma this weekend. Wow! From 90 clubs in our District 5020. There are over 35,000 clubs world wide. Wild polio will hopefully be eradicated soon, and then it will be time to switch from the oral vaccine to the injected and that will take more time. What next?

The fast car above is from the Lemay car museum, but it is currently in the lobby of the Hotel Murano. The Rotarians had passes to the museum on Friday night… hundreds of cars from all eras, including from the time when carriage makers were making car bodies to order. Unique and hand painted and woodwork and gorgeous.
