Fine fettle

Our giant salmon is in fine fettle
Stuffed with rhodys and not with nettles!

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: nettle. Gosh, telepathy or prescience or something. I took the picture two days before the prompt and those are the only photographs I took of the fabulous parade!

The witches out

The witches are out in the Halloween Parade downtown. Many are belly dancing.

The smallest children are not quite sure what to make of the witches. All of the monsters and demons and dinosaurs and witches are here replenishing the legends. The smallest children aren’t sure about me either.

One small child looks at me and says firmly, “Cwab.” Another one stares at my claws until he is led out of sight. I think he is wondering if humans can have claws for hands and WHY? Others are from the east coast: “LOBSTER!”

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: replenish. A friend took the picture of me.

Rhody

We are in the week of our annual Rhododendron Festival. A tricycle race on Wednesday, run by my Sunrise Rotary. The Bed Race, the Pet Parade. Today is the Rhody Run, but I wore my feet out yesterday, with the Running of the Balls (one of our big Rotary fundraisers) and then the Rhody Parade. I walked to Monroe Street at 9:30 am and was not done until 3:00 pm. My phone went dead, but another person’s recorded 16,000 steps. I iced my feet when I got home, up on pillows!

And the local rhododendrons are gorgeous. Are they narcissists? Or just joyful?
