I do not know who this is. Lady Godiva seems unlikely, since she is Anglo-Saxon and this is a Florence Garden. Is there a Greek or Roman story that you know about?

I patted a honey bee yesterday.
The bees were having such a lovely time on these flowers in my front yard, plants that my neighbor gave me. I worked with a zoologist right after college who was studying honey bees. With that experience in the past, I patted a bee very gently. It shrugged a little and went back to the flower, much too busy to think of stinging me.

I am not sure what it is called, in English or Italian, but it is from the Rose Gardens in Florence.

I joined my daughter in Venice at a hostel two nights ago. I arrived at about 11:30 pm after about 32 hours of travel. Bus, bus, ferry, taxi, plane, plane, plane, bus, walk. At that time of night, karaoke was going strong at the hostel and I felt fairly ridiculous as the lone grey haired person. The next morning revealed I am not the only one.
