I don’t want to argue about global warming. Let’s talk about deserts instead. Overgrazing, cutting down all the trees and losing topsoil: we have seen this in the United States, with the dust bowl. We have a lot of people in the world to feed, even after all the deaths from Covid-19. We need to take care of land.
Ok, I am lame, that is embedded, not a reblog. I will have to figure out the difference. Feel free to laugh at me. My problem with technology is that it is NOT intuitive. I was horrible with computers until I realized that they are linear and stupid. That is, they only follow the exact right command and they have very little capacity to guess what I mean. I decided that computers were glorified hammers and very very annoying and that the manuals are usually written by people who speak computer, not English. That made it much easier for me to work with computers.

But, that said, Once I was typing in the dark because I was sharing a room with my niece. I sent a long message to Forgottenman but my fingers were on the wrong keys. Just out of curiosity, he put the message into Google and it figured out what had happened and sent him the correct message. That seems a miracle to me. And sorta scary.
Though that is a pretty straightforward code, that we played with as kids. It’s not a complex code. Heh, typing in the dark. I wake at 4 mostly, so when I stay with my daughter on trips, I sneak out to find the coffee in the hotel until she wakes up.
I was actually still in bed. I hadn’t falllen asleep yet and in that house the guest room had no windows!!! It was a lovely house but the guest room was a tomb. Helped to limit the length of stay my bro-in-law joked.
I had a cousin put me up in a basement full of spiders for a night. My daughter and I slept anyhow.
