My mansion is the outdoors. What could be more beautiful than the sky and the sea and the outdoors? Not only does my mansion have more rooms than I can ever explore, all over the world, but it has every mood imaginable too.
For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: mansion.
This brought to mind the song Delta Dawn recorded by Helen Reddy and Tanya Tucker. “And did I hear you say he was meeting you here today to take you to his mansion in the sky?”
I didn’t think of that song, but yes, I was thinking about the mansion in the sky/of the sky but here on earth too. And, dang, hope I don’t go today!
I was 13 when I first heard that song and a “man of low degree” and “mansion in the sky” had very different meanings then for me. I was very earthbound then. Just sounded like another jilted lover lament about empty promises.
double and triple meanings, yes
The beauty of poetry!
