For the Daily Prompt: frantic.
The first black crowned night heron that we spot is holding very still. Fishing? No, after a while we realize: napping. Napping with head tucked, on one foot and not caring when a coot swims by.
That is a very talented napper, the opposite of frantic.
For my friend Caroline, a black crowned night heron. We were 15 feet away when I spotted it! Hopeful, we think, that it was camouflaged and we were just being tourists. It was not frantic, more watchful.
