savage
They have decided that I am not savage and everyone calms down.
I am submitting this to Thursday doors today. It’s not a door really, except sometimes the views traveling or hiking or outdoors are doors into another consciousness… I think that hiking helps me through the door into feeling peaceful and that my problems or worries or hurt feelings are not really significant after all. They are small in this beautiful world. They shrink and seem insignificant.
I took this near the summit of Mount Townsend, looking back. There is Mount Ranier and then we had a discussion about the other peak to the right. Mount Adams, I think, because Mount St. Helen’s is not as tall….
For the Daily Prompt: pluck. I was thinking of the picture of the great horned owl, that she would not appreciate the word pluck. Would you pluck this bud or wait for it to open?
And a rose for my friend S and the people around him. Pluck is courage as well.
For the Daily Prompt: snack.
The local chipmunks at Lake Matinenda know these friends well and stop by for a snack. Peanuts, that they will take right from our fingers. Usually I get blurs trying to photograph them.

For Wordless Wednesday.
For the Daily Prompt: sunny.
I took this on our Mount Zion hike last Saturday.
For the Daily Prompt: cringe.
I took this on the ridge on top of Mount Zion yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous hike, with the rhododendrons floating among the tall trees and tons of wild flowers. Here are little wild strawberries…. we will have to come back in September.
Cringe: I cringe when I hear the discussion on the news being about health INSURANCEย and not health CARE. We need to change the focus.
We HAVE a mandate that anyone in the US can have health CARE. That is, the emergency room cannot legally turn anyone away. But the bills can bankrupt you and take your house away. Not only that, but the emergency room is the most expensive and worst way to take care of people in the world. The emergency room cannot treat cancer, cannot treat hypertension, cannot help a person with depression, cannot do the long term chronic care that I do. Per person in the US we pay twice as much as the next most expensive country and they have universal care. What is the matter with the citizens of the US? We care more for corporations protecting their profits than we do for our citizens health. And I think this will bring our country down….. we will collapse.
I am a physician but I also run my own clinic. I am a small business owner. And I really expect that health INSURANCE will force my clinic to close.
Call Congress. Say we want health CARE not health INSURANCE.
We hiked up Mount Walker on Sunday and the wild rhododendrons float among the trees. Gorgeous.
For the Daily Prompt: paper.
