This oak in Maryland has stubborn leaves. After Christmas and refusing to fall and still attached. Most of the other trees that were going to lose their leaves already had, but not this oak.

A lot of our eastern oaks have leaves that persist into January or later. I’m not sure what advantage there is to the tree to do this.
I wonder. Now I will have to read about leaves and oaks. Cool beans, or rather, oaks.
