For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: sanctuary.
We are in a very big winter storm in the Pacific Northwest. Some years we get no snow, but right now we have 6 inches and still snowing. I have heat and light and power and tea. And food. So home is the sanctuary right now.
Is the snow threatening?

Or beautiful?

And yes, I took these this morning, at about 4:30 am.
It looks beautiful.
My goodness. It’s beautiful and just vaguely threatening all at the same time. One of my readers in western Michigan left a note on her blog this morning: a very short one that said she’d been put out of her home because the ice storm there had left her without light or heat. She’s hoping the pipes don’t freeze.
Yes, I am worrying about a person that I do not think has heat. It was down to 14 once last week.
And it is threatening and even lethal if someone is homeless or doesn’t have heat. I am on the hospital grid, so my home power comes back first. But last Monday I cancelled clinic because no power and it was cold, dark and no computers. The power came on by about 9:30 but the clinic was still cold.
