Parenting, eagle style

This disheveled bird is an immature bald eagle. They take 5 years to gain the fully white head and tail. This one has a parent along.

The parent has better grooming habits. They are both in a tree at Fort Worden.

Sometimes I can spot them from a long way off.

And then it’s lovely to have a zoom lens.

And what is this eagle parent saying to their offspring?

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: eagle.

National Bird

“Hey Martha! Look, she’s got a real camera! Serious zoom lens on that baby!”

“Ralph, look dignified!”

“Dignified! Are you kidding?”

“Ralph, we are the National Bird! Bald Eagles! Look proud! Like me!”

“Nah, Martha, I’m crossing my eyes. She’ll get a surprise when she downloads THESE photos! Come on, Martha, mug for once!”

“Ralph, you are impossible!”

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: mischief.

tandem flight

For the Ragtime Daily Prompt: lingular.

Singular lingular lobe of the lung
infective invective now what’s to be done?
rolling and trolling and speaking in tongues
vote heath here not wealth here until healing comes

Look at this pair of eagles flying in tandem, together. Maybe they don’t agree with each other about everything. They are both individuals. But they fly together. A symbol for our country?
