A friend and I go to Hawaii, to the big island, in March of 2018. The road near Kilauea is closed because of fumes. The level of the lava had dropped. My friend and I find a place where we can see it in the distance and wait for nightfall to get these photographs.
We could see it in the day and clearly they were right about fumes.

It got much more impressive as it got darker.

The real eruption started about a month later, destroying houses and land and building new land.

This is a pie plate that I use as a bird bath in my garden. With the colorful leaves and water, it becomes abstract. ii

I would have trouble walking this pet, who weighs 90 pounds, a bit cumbersome The owner explains, “She’s happy to go to a stranger because her goal is to get to the ground. Strangers are not as good at holding her.” We were at the PACNWRS, with many many many snakes. Most of them are not out, but are contained.
Of course, if you need a special hat, well, maybe it’s the place to be.

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: cumbersome.
Our hike two days ago was not up the scree slope, but seemed built of scree.
Here is the down view.

Going up to our right was the slope.

To our left was the view.

The little side trails led to the waterfalls.

For the Ragtag Daily Prompt: scree.

I took these at the Port party last month, with the band playing on a stage beneath nested cranes and a full moon.

Earlier, in the light.
