Ok, I have been going through my clothes. I found both the pink bra and the wings in the bottom of a closet. So, I put them on. I did not actually step outside the house wearing this. I think I need a costume party. Anyhow, it’s rather fun trying these silly things on. I’d have to wear the wings over my White Coat to doctor in this outfit…..
outfits inappropriate for work

Imagine wearing this on a Zoom meeting. Hey–wear what you want when working from home, right?!
Yes, this is why I think my county hospital let me go. When they insisted we wear photo id, I had two things to attach it to: a necklace of safety pins for those punk mood days and a “Circ d Soleil” id thing that I’d found at a garage sale….
my CFO did not like EITHER.
so old school thinking. Did they not think this would, perhaps, make patients smile and open up the conversation more? Personally, I would love it.
Oh, well, I made them nervous on multiple levels. Grrl. Argued. Stood up for patients, nurses, maintenance, they said I was an amazing diagnostician, great relationship with specialists. So who didn’t like me? My male family practice partners. I think I was unloaded to keep me from a leadership position. And now the chickens might come home to roost. Sometimes you gotta light the slow match….
also once I opened my own tiny clinic there were multiple issues re the hospital. Almost as if (gasp) they were discriminating and trying to shut me down. Gosh. I should probably talk to a really good attorney, as there have been multiple lawsuits across the country with small practices fighting big organizations that try to shut them down. Also, I am sure this has NOTHING to do with the emergency room treating me badly and not to MY standard of care the last time I went in…. oh, and not to the US standard of care either, so I asked them to please review and entirely drop the bill, including to my insurance company. I think that I will wait one more week, then write to my insurance and cc the state insurance commissioner. Do you think that would help? I do.
