Where is an entomologist when we need one?
Actually, they’re around. Have you ever looked at BugGuide? You can post a photo there and ask for an ID, and you’ll get one. Apparently there are people who love insects so much they willingly devote hours of volunteer time to helping people sort out their various flies, spiders, millipedes, and beetles!
A dress like that… gold bodice and black underskirt with white spots and black tulle over it…I took entomology way back in college and had to collect Wisconsin bugs. My best one was a carrion beetle….
