Last year this rose put out one bloom. I had a cage over it but it kept growing through the cage and the deer kept eating it.
This year I put a better fence around it and it is so happy! It has been in my yard since before I moved here and has never bloomed like this!

There was a spindly apple tree in the hell strip by the road. we figured that it was a volunteer from the old orchard that had been here years before. We finally managed to get the hell strip cleared out and under control and the apple thanked us by growing. This year it is crowded with apples; it looks like it’s New England Spy variety – nice pie apple. The old Biblical phrase about the stone the builders neglected has been placed in the Northeast Corner, comes to mind about your rose and our apple.
